Itinerary: Fez to Marrakech - Desert and Kasbahs Route - 5 Days

Arrival in Fez, the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. Reception at the airport or train station and transfer to your accommodation in the heart of the medina or in the new city.

Free day to rest from the journey and acclimatize to the city. Optional: first stroll through the Fez el-Bali medina, considered the largest and best-preserved in the Arab world, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Possibility of visiting the surroundings of the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter Mellah, or simply getting lost in the alleyways of this fascinating medieval city. Time to adapt to the unique rhythm and atmosphere of Fez.

Early departure from Fez heading south, crossing the Middle Atlas. First stop in Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its alpine architecture, clean streets, cool climate and European atmosphere.

We continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to Morocco's last Barbary macaques. Opportunity to observe these unique primates in their natural habitat among ancient cedars and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Passing through Midelt, a city strategically situated between the Middle and High Atlas, known for its lead mines and spectacular mountain landscapes. Stop for lunch and rest.

We cross the spectacular Ziz Valley with its extensive palm groves and traditional oases, pass through Arfoud, famous for its fossils and dates, until reaching the dunes of Merzouga. At sunset, camel ride to the Berber camp. Magical night under the Sahara stars.

Magical sunrise in the Sahara desert, one of the most beautiful natural spectacles in the world. Return by camel to the hotel after breakfast at the camp.

We continue to the spectacular Todra Gorges, an impressive canyon with vertical limestone walls reaching 300 meters high. We will walk through the gorge and enjoy the dramatic landscape, the coolness of the place and the natural waterfalls.

We proceed to the Dades Valley, known for its traditional kasbahs, lunar landscapes and the famous "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs." The road winds between unique rock formations and small authentic Berber villages.

We will explore the famous Dades Gorges with their unique rock formations called "monkey fingers" and their spectacular curves. Accommodation in the Dades Valley with impressive views of the mountains and geological formations.

After breakfast, we continue to the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its Damascus rose plantations and natural cosmetic products. During the season (April-May), the valley fills with incredible fragrances and pink colors.

Arrival in Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa." Optional visit to Atlas Studios where numerous international films have been shot such as "Gladiator," "Lawrence of Arabia," "The Mummy" and series like "Game of Thrones."

We will visit the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for appearing in multiple film productions. We will explore this impressive 11th-century adobe fortress, considered one of the most beautiful and best-preserved kasbahs in Morocco.

Journey to Marrakech crossing the majestic High Atlas mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m), the highest in Morocco. Spectacular mountain landscapes and photo stops. Arrival in Marrakech and accommodation.

Valley of Roses Ouarzazate Hollywood Ait Ben Haddou Arrival in Marrakech

Last day of our Fez to Marrakech route. After breakfast, free time in Marrakech to explore this fascinating imperial city at your own pace.

Options for the free day: visit the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square, explore the traditional souks for last-minute shopping, visit the Majorelle Gardens, the Bahia Palace, or the Koutoubia Mosque.

Possibility of relaxing in a traditional hammam, enjoying a Moroccan massage, or simply having mint tea on a terrace with panoramic views of the city and the Atlas Mountains.

Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Marrakech airport where our 5-day route from Fez ends. Farewell and end of services. We hope this route has been an unforgettable experience!
